Consultation is now open on the Australian Financial Complaints Authority’s proposed new Appropriate Lending to Small Business Approach.
The consultation period is from 18 August to 29 September, 2023.
Consultation on our new Responsible Lending Approach, already underway, is open until Monday 11 September.
These two documents will help complainants and financial firms better understand how AFCA approaches complaints and reaches decisions in these areas.
AFCA cares about the feedback and valuable insights of all stakeholders and invites them to provide comments or make a submission.
Visit the new Approaches Consultation page for more information.

About AFCA
The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) is a non-government ombudsman service providing free, fair and independent help with financial disputes. It is a one-stop-shop for consumers and small businesses who have a dispute with their financial firm, over things such as banking, credit, insurance, advice, investments or superannuation. Where an agreement cannot be reached between parties, AFCA can issue decisions that are binding on financial firms.
