Small businesses in dispute with financial service providers lodged 3,490 complaints with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) in 2021-22, down 3 per cent on the previous year.

AFCA attends community townhalls for people affected by recent storms and floods in NSW and Queensland

AFCA decision makers and case managers attended a series of community forums in flood-affected areas in New South Wales, including Murwillumbah, Mullumbimby, Ballina, Lismore, and North Brisbane. The forums were arranged by the Insurance Council of Australia to help local policyholders connect with their insurers, and to help explain the insurance claims process.
New funding model comes into effect on 1 July 2022

AFCA’s new funding model will come into effect on 1 July 2022. The new fee structure, including the introduction of five free complaints, will apply to complaints closed from 1 July 2022 (excluding legacy complaints).
