The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) has published a new factsheet for financial firms and consumers about COVID-19 related home insurance claim delays.
The new factsheet provides information about how AFCA will handle disputes about home insurance claim delays in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and AFCA’s expectations of insurers.
The principles outlined in the factsheet also apply to other reasons for claim delays, such as natural disasters.
