AFCA was proud to host the Australian and New Zealand Ombudsman Association’s (ANZOA) “Meeting of the Minds” conference on 28-29 July. ANZOA is the peak body for Ombudsmen in Australia and New Zealand.
The conference brought together over a dozen ombudsmen from various industries across Australia and New Zealand. The focus of discussion was the role of ombudsmen in a changing world, and how to improve effectiveness as organisations, leaders and individuals.
AFCA Deputy Chief Ombudsman, Dr June Smith opened the first session, while Executive General Manager - Operational Delivery, Diana Ennis and Head of Jurisdiction, Michelle Kumarich presented on the program of work in response to AFCA’s Independent Review.
Other ombudsman that attended included the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, the Taxation Ombudsman, state Energy and Water Ombudsmen, state Public Transport Ombudsmen, and the National Health Practitioner Ombudsman.
