About AFCA

Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) is a separate program for settling external disputes.

AFCA provides individuals and small businesses with a free, fair and flexible service to resolve complaints related to financial products and services.

We can handle a wide range of issues, including:

  • Errors in bank transactions and credit lists
  • Difficulty paying off loans, credit cards and short-term financing when your financial situation changes
  • Reject insurance claim (such as car, home and pet insurance claims, pet, travel, income and crisis insurance)
  • Inappropriate investment advice
  • The guardian's decision on the distribution of retirement benefits.

What we can do

If you can not resolve your complaint directly with the financial institution, you can contact AFCA.

We can help you resolve your complaint at no cost without having to go to court. There is no need to seek legal or other advice when you make a complaint, unless you wish.

If you are not fluent in English, we can arrange a free interpreter service for you. Contact our toll-free interpreter at 131 450 or call 1800 1800 931 * and we will arrange an interpreter for you.
