The Rules of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) have been prepared by Australian Financial Complaints Authority Limited (ACN 620 494 340), a company limited by guarantee, which has been authorised by the Minister for Revenue and Financial Services to establish, maintain and promote the scheme.

Our Rules set out what complaints we can consider, the procedures we can use to resolve those complaints, remedies we can provide and related matters, including our reporting obligations.

ASIC approved our Rules on 6 September 2018. Since then ASIC has approved further changes to AFCA’s Rules. The current version of the Rules is available to download below. For full details of the Rules and Operational Guidelines as in force at different times, refer here.
