The Rules of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) have been prepared by Australian Financial Complaints Authority Limited (ACN 620 494 340), a company limited by guarantee, which has been authorised by the Minister for Revenue and Financial Services to establish, maintain and promote the scheme.
Our Rules set out what complaints we can consider, the procedures we can use to resolve those complaints, remedies we can provide and related matters, including our reporting obligations. ASIC approved our Rules on 6 September 2018.
On 18 June 2019, ASIC approved a change to AFCA’s Rules to allow it to investigate certain complaints dating back to 1 January 2008. The updated section is available to download below. A full updated version of the AFCA Rules will be provided in due course.
